Cross-sectoral joint service promoting employment (TYP)

In a TYP service, your TE Office, municipality and Kela collaborate on finding the right solution to your situation while also providing their assistance to you.

If you have been unemployed for a long period of time, you may be eligible to participate in a cross-sectoral joint service, or TYP service. A TYP service may be the right service for you if your employment difficulties are related not only to a lack of available jobs or necessary skills but you also have problems managing your daily life or if your functional abilities are limited. It can also help when your ability to work is not at its peak.

In a TYP service, your TE Office, municipality and Kela collaborate on finding the right solution to your situation while also providing their assistance to you. This allows you to participate in the services offered by various public authorities via a single service. A TYP service can help you discover the right types of social welfare and health services, employment services and rehabilitation services. It will also help you assess the educational opportunities and work activities that are available to you.

Your TE Office, municipality or Kela will direct you to the right type of TYP service. You can also ask to participate in the service at your local TE Office.

Instructions for customers in local government trials on employment

If you are a customer of the local government trial on employment, your municipality of residence will direct you to a cross-sectoral joint service that promotes employment (TYP) if necessary. In the cross-sectoral joint service, your municipality of residence prepares a multidisciplinary employment plan with you.
