Job Market Finland has provided several reforms for job seekers during the first half of 2020 that make the service easier to use. A significant change has been made to the job search profile set-up.

A job seeker no longer needs to list their skills and professions in the service. Instead, they can copy the texts of e.g. their job application or CV into the free text field of the skills section of their profile. The text can be any kind of description of the job seeker’s competence. Text recognition based on artificial intelligence extracts professional and competence words from the text, after which the user decides which skills and professional words they wish to include in their job search profile.

The benefits of competence proposals based on text recognition include not only speed but also the fact that the function makes it easier to describe one's own skills. In other words, the program can come up with words that the person filling the profile might not have thought of.
