Helsinki is piloting the Job Market Finland regional pages
When we started planning area-specific content for Job Market Finland, specifically regional pages, the City of Helsinki was immediately interested in becoming one of the pilot regions. Helsinki offers jobseekers many services that support employment and competence development, and Job Market Finland seemed like a natural place to highlight these services.
Although the City of Helsinki has been active in this matter, a regional page is not in the hands of just one organisation. The idea is that actors in the world of work come together to plan and build a suitable entity for their customers at Job Market Finland. In addition to services, a regional page will contain the current vacancies for easy browsing.
- I think it's important that we're involved in this cooperation. After all, it benefits our customers to have our services on Job Market Finland, says Johannes Hirvelä, Development Manager of the City of Helsinki.
The City of Helsinki's employment services are currently being described and updated so that they can later be transferred to the Suomi.fi Finnish Service Catalogue and then also displayed on Job Market Finland.
- It’s important that we can use existing data repositories for cooperation without the need to produce and maintain the same content in many different places, continues Hirvelä.
The regional pages are still searching for their form, and pilots will help determine the best way for different actors to cooperate for the purpose of providing service packages to customers.
About regional pages
The regional content of Job Market Finland will be piloted in early 2021. The regional pages consist of topical content, services, jobs and possible theme pages. The objective of the pilot is to test how the planned content and other solutions work in practice. The pilot will also generate data on the planning of regional cooperation models.
The pilot includes seven regions: Municipalities in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area (Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa) and Tampere, Kouvola, Vaasa and Mikkeli with their partner regions. Later Kuusamo and Taivalkoski joined, also.
