Job Market Finland's regional pages piloted in Mikkeli

News

Mikkeli and the South Savo region took on the Job Market Finland regional pilot, as it was seen as a good way to bring together employment actors in South Savo.

The TE Office of South Savo took a driving role in launching the pilot and invited others to participate. A few actors are currently involved in the pilot, but the aim is to engage more participants as the project proceeds.

- It is important for us to not only talk about the Mikkeli area, underlines Mervi Huuskonen, TE Office expert.

- We already work together well in this region and there is a lot of cooperation in employment services. So, the Job Market regional pages should also be set up at the regional level, she continues.

Based on the experiences gained from piloting, it will be possible to plan how Job Market Finland could cooperate with regional actors in the future and how it can serve local customers from the perspective of both job search and labour, as well as services and communications.

South Savo has also considered the possibility of creating its own theme website in Job Market Finland.

- Circular economy is a topical and important theme for us, Mervi Huuskonen notes.

- A website could be built around it that would present activities and opportunities related to circular economy. The theme site would also make the Job Market Finland regional pages look more like us, says Mervi Huuskonen.

What regional pages?

The regional content of Job Market Finland will be piloted in early 2021. The regional pages consist of topical content, services, jobs and possible theme pages. The objective of the piloting project is to test how the planned contents and other solutions work in practice. The pilot will also generate data on the planning of regional cooperation models.

The pilot includes seven regions: The municipalities in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area (Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa), Tampere, Kouvola, Vaasa and Mikkeli with their partner areas. Kuusamo and Taivalkoski have joined the project later.
