Tampere at Job Market Finland

News

Tampere is one of the regional pilots in Job Market Finland. Tampere has put a lot of thought into the cooperative aspect regarding the customer's service experience and the field of operators.

Janne Taiponen, Development Manager of employment and growth services at the City of Tampere, explains that customers have felt that labour and employment services are fragmented, which makes it difficult to get an idea of what is available.

- That's why we made the strategic choice to collect all our customer-oriented information on Job Market Finland, Taiponen explains.

- It's also why we joined the regional page pilot. We wanted to try out the cooperation in practice and be able to influence how Job Market Finland can be used at the regional level.

The pilot in Tampere has revealed that the regional services and pages in Job Market Finland are primarily based on network cooperation. Taiponen says that the cooperation requires a leader and an operating model for carrying it out in practice.

- We hope that the pilot produces good practices for coordinating regional cooperation as well.

Tampere is also looking further into the future with integrated digital solutions in addition to the customer interface.

- We want to see how Job Market Finland can support our digital projects. And, of course, we hope that at some point we can use a shared platform for customer service as well, Janne Taiponen concludes.

What regional pages?

The regional content of Job Market Finland will be piloted in early 2021. The regional pages consist of topical content, services, jobs and possible theme pages. The objective of the piloting project is to test how the planned contents and other solutions work in practice. The pilot will also generate data on the planning of regional cooperation models.

The pilot includes seven regions: The municipalities in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area (Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa), Tampere, Kouvola, Vaasa and Mikkeli with their partner areas. Kuusamo and Taivalkoski have joined the project later.
