Social entrepreneurship

A social enterprise conducts business like any other enterprise, but its main goal is to promote a societal objective.

A social enterprise uses the majority of its profits or surplus to make achieving the objective possible. It can take the form of a limited liability company, cooperative, or foundation or association engaged in business activities. The Centre of Expertise for Social Enterprises provides advice and guidance to entrepreneurs and organisations engaged in or interested in social enterprise activities.
