Collaboration with the EURES portal began and piloting of the new application programming interface for job advertisements was launched.
EURES is a European portal for professional mobility maintained collaboratively by various European employment services. Its purpose is to facilitate the free movement of workers in Europe. In June, Job Market Finland started collaborating with the EURES portal. You can now easily post your job advertisement or job applicant profile to the EURES portal through Job Market Finland.
Posting a job advertisement to the EURES portal is easy and can be done with a few clicks of the mouse. Create the job advertisement in your preferred languages at Job Market Finland. On the Application Instructions tab, look for the section ”Submitting to the EURES portal” under which you can tick the box ”This job advertisement may be posted on the EURES portal”. In the same section, you can indicate that you are interested in hiring someone from another country.
Posting a job applicant profile to the EURES portal is also easy. After creating your job applicant profile in Job Market Finland, click on the "Export your job applicant profile to the EURES portal" button below the profile. You can then preview and edit your profile before posting it to the EURES portal. Once your profile is complete, you can send it to the service by clicking on the "Submit to the EURES portal" button. Adding or editing information in your EURES profile does not affect your job applicant profile in Job Market Finland. They are two separate profiles, but both of them can be updated in Job Market Finland.
The piloting of the application programming interface for job advertisements began
The piloting of the application programming interface for job advertisements was launched last week in Job Market Finland. Employers and software houses can use the new interface to publish advertisements directly in Job Market Finland. When you use the interface to publish a job advertisement in Job Market Finland, you can choose whether the advertisement should also be published on the te-palvelut.fi website and on the EURES portal. Job Market Finland is still used to review candidate profiles recommended for a vacancy.
Using the interface, the job advertisement data is transferred directly to Job Market Finland in a structured form, helping to match it with potential candidates. This means that as a jobseeker you will receive better suggestions when viewing recommended jobs and when running searches for job advertisements using search parameters.
Just like before, job advertisements are transferred automatically from te-palvelut.fi website to Job Market Finland. During the transfer, the job advertisements are automatically complemented with additional competence and professional information, which the employer can then edit by logging in as an employer to Job Market Finland. Currently, Job Market Finland only updates a job advertisement’s application period if it is changed through the user interface or the application programming interface of Job Market Finland. We will improve this aspect of Job Market Finland soon. More information on this will be given at a later date. As an employer, you can change a job advertisement’s application period directly in Job Market Finland.
